Scarecrow Festival 2013

The library's first Scarecrow Festival took place Saturday, October 19, 2013. It was a blast to see how creative all the kids got and how much fun we had during the story portion. Here are some of the highlights:

And here are a few of the results!

A special thanks to Wally Geist for the pictures, and of course, thank you to everyone who participated!

Ahh! Reading Monsters!

October's three-footed reading monsters are at the Plum Lake Library! They've fully digested their stories and are ready to share the beautiful artwork with the world!

Thank you to everyone who participated.

November's activity is already set up and ready to go! Come check it out!

November Activity Station

The holidays are approaching. It's the season of giving, and the library is no exception. This month's imagination station holds the instructions for Read to Your Pet Month at the Plum Lake Library. We provide the pets and books, you provide the voice to read aloud. Stop by the imagination station all month long to claim your pet.

Here's mine! He's a red foam dinosaur named Stompasaurus.

When you're done reading, stop back at this blog post and leave me a comment.
Tell me:
  1. What books you read to your new pet
  2. Your name
  3. Your phone number
and you'll be entered for a chance to win a special prize!

we've added the BIRTHDAY BOOKSHELF to the library. Every month, come celebrate our favorite Juvenile and Young Adult authors who have birthdays. Follow the giant pink sign

to find this month's selected authors.

All books are available for check-out. The authors will be featured on the end cap below the sign with their names on special birthday cards. Come see who's celebrating in the month of November!

We're Ready for Halloween

The library is fully decorated for Halloween! Come check out the spooky decorations and the Halloween books on display (all of which you can take home with you).

While you're here, see if you can find the I Spy Case. It has a spooky Halloween theme this month with tons of things for you to find.

The weather is cold, the monsters are out - it's reading season at the Plum Lake Library.

Monster Invasion!

The three-footed reading monster has invaded the library!

Only, he hasn't learned to read yet. Help the three-footed reading monster learn about your favorite story by drawing your book's favorite scene in the monster's tummy. Come find him at the Imagination Station in the children's section (pictured below) and we'll display him in the library!

While you're there, put your name in for our monthly drawing just for completing the imagination activity!
